Introducing Andy Griffin
Andy joins the Both Brains team as a Support Technician based out of our Queenstown office. Andy has lived in Dunedin for the majority of his life and always enjoyed the opportunities it’s provided. Andy has loved everything electronic since primary school and it was natural decision for him to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Otago Polytechnic. From here, Andy has worked both nationally and internationally in IT roles in tourism, and managed services. After spending some time overseas Andy has returned to Queenstown to call home. Welcome to the team Andy!
Q. Why Both Brains?
"A fortuitous opportunity to work for Both Brains came up in Queenstown after returning from a 6 month trip around Europe. I liked the idea of a small tight nit team making big impacts on the businesses they supported. There is a wealth of knowledge split between the team members, and it is an excellent place to grow my skill set and continue building on my career in IT."
Q. What do you do outside of work?
"Living in Queenstown I love to take full advantage of the outdoor activities available here. I’ve started skiing in the winter and reignited my passion for mountain biking during the summer months. I have also been introduced to the sport of Frisbee golf recently and have been enjoying experiencing the different courses the South Island has to offer."
Q. What were you doing before Both Brains?
"I have been working in the IT field for around 8 years now. I started by getting my Bachelor of IT in Dunedin. After graduating I worked for PGG Wrightson and New Era IT before going on my OE and getting a job for an MSP in London, living there for 2 years. When I returned home I got a job working in the IT team for RealNZ which was a great experience to see some of our beautiful back yard."
