Both Brains GM named a finalist in the inaugural Women in ICT Community Impact Award

We are proud to share that Jenni Powell, our General Manager, has been named a finalist in the Community Impact category at the Women in ICT Awards 2026, hosted by Reseller News.

This is the first year the Community Impact award has been run. It recognises people who have made a real and lasting difference through work that builds inclusion, wellbeing and connection, both within the technology sector and the wider community.

Community leadership grounded in Queenstown

Jenni is based in Queenstown, where much of her community work is centred. Her nomination recognises years of effort to strengthen connection, opportunity and inclusion across the Southern Lakes region, including:

  • Founding and growing Queenstown Women in Tech (QWIT), creating visibility and connection in a regional tech community
  • Facilitating Tech Women New Zealand Mentoring Circles, supporting women through structured mentoring across the country
  • Mentoring business owners and leaders through Business Mentors New Zealand
  • Delivering free, accessible community events, including running Techweek activity in the Southern Lakes

This work is rooted in the local community, but its reach extends well beyond the region through national networks, mentoring programmes and industry collaboration.

“This recognition means a great deal, but it is not mine alone. It belongs to everyone who has shown up, backed one another, and helped build something real in our community. Community does not just happen, it is built by people choosing to turn up for each other, and that is what makes this so special.” Jenni Powell, General Manager, Both Brains

A continued focus on inclusion and impact

This recognition follows Jenni being named a finalist in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Individual Champion category at the 2025 Women in ICT Awards. Together, they reflect a steady commitment to leadership that puts people, community and lasting impact alongside business performance.

At Both Brains, giving back is not separate from what we do. It shapes how we lead, how we partner with our clients, and how we contribute to the technology sector locally, nationally and beyond.

We congratulate all the finalists recognised in the Women in ICT Awards 2026, and we look forward to celebrating the collective impact being made across our industry.
