Client Case Study: Everything Travel Group - Scaling globally with modern IT

Everything Travel Group is a fast growing digital wholesaler of New Zealand tourism products, connecting travellers and travel agents around the world with tours, activities and experiences. Through their consumer brand, Everything New Zealand, and wholesale platform, Local Agent, the business delivers a human led booking experience at global scale.

But as the business grew, their technology didn’t keep pace.

Like many growing organisations, IT responsibility sat internally with leadership. Systems had evolved organically over time, primarily using Google tools, with little structure or long term planning. Information was spread across platforms, collaboration was inconsistent, and security concerns were starting to surface.

“IT fell on me,” says Matt Morgan, General Manager at Everything Travel Group.
“You kind of get by, but there was no proactivity or forward thinking. It was just reacting to what was in front of us, and it was getting in the way of focusing on what really matters.”

Moving from reactive to strategic

Everything Travel Group knew IT needed to be better, but like many small, fast moving businesses, they didn’t have the time or specialist capability to design and deliver a future focused solution internally.

That’s when they partnered with Both Brains.

“We reached out at the right time,” Matt says.
“What stood out was that Both Brains weren’t just there to fix what was broken. They helped us think about what the future could look like and how to make life easier for the team.”

Together, Both Brains and Everything Travel Group mapped out a plan to move away from a fragmented, reactive setup and into a single, secure Microsoft platform that could support growth, improve collaboration, and enable remote work.

A unified Microsoft environment

Both Brains led the migration from Google and legacy systems into Microsoft 365, consolidating email, file storage and collaboration tools into one cohesive environment. SharePoint and Teams provided structure and consistency, while Intune strengthened security and device management across the business.

The impact was immediate.

“We’ve taken 20 years of disorganisation into a new chapter,” Matt explains.
“Everything’s now organised, secure, and where it needs to be.”

With staff working across multiple countries and time zones, the new setup gave leadership confidence that the team could work productively from anywhere without compromising security.

“We can now scale without location being a problem,” Matt says.
“That’s huge for us.”

Security when it matters most

For Matt, the true value of the partnership became clear during a major security incident.

“A year earlier, that situation would have just been me, not knowing what to do,” he says.
“Instead, Both Brains resolved it within minutes and handled all the follow on communication. What could have been a big issue became a minor one.”

That moment reinforced the value of having a proactive IT partner, not just someone who fixes things when they break.

Ready for what’s next

With their data now securely structured in Microsoft, Everything Travel Group has begun testing Microsoft Copilot, opening the door to smarter access to information, automation, and future AI driven workflows.

“We’ve got lots of ideas, but not always the know how to execute,” Matt says.
“Both Brains challenge our thinking, offer alternatives, and then actually deliver.”

For Both Brains, the partnership reflects exactly how they like to work.

“Our role is to help businesses move forward, not just keep the lights on,” says Ryan Howard, Managing Director at Both Brains.
“With Everything Travel Group, it’s about building a secure foundation that allows them to grow globally and adopt new tools like Copilot with confidence.”

A partnership, not just support

For Everything Travel Group, working with Both Brains has taken IT off the leadership plate and turned it into a genuine enabler of growth.

“If you think your IT needs to be better but don’t have the time or capability to do it yourself, it’s an absolute no brainer,” Matt says.
“I’d 100% recommend working with Both Brains.”

With modern systems in place and a trusted partner alongside them, Everything Travel Group is now free to focus on what they do best: connecting people around the world with unforgettable experiences.
